On Saturday 28th October, I attended the official opening of the newly refurbished Market Square, following the government awarding £14.3 million to make it happen. I was delighted to support the borough council’s bid for the money from Future High Street Fund that will transform town centre.
I’m delighted to announce that following my campaign on birth trauma, I will be leading the UK Parliament’s first ever debate in our history on this topic. It will take place next week on Thursday 19th October in the House of Commons.
On ‘Back British Farming Day’, the Government announced its support for a ‘Buy British’ section on supermarket’s online stores, following an open letter signed by Theo Clarke MP.
On Monday Theo Clarke MP hosted the first meeting of the new All Party Parliamentary Group for Birth Trauma in Parliament, to launch the results of a specially commissioned survey with Mumsnet. More than a thousand women from across the UK contributed to the results.
Theo Clarke has today welcomed the news that the Conservative Government is protecting the price of a pint by increasing the generosity of Draught Relief – meaning the alcohol duty paid for drinks on tap at the pub will be up to 11p less per pint than in a supermarket.
