Theo Clarke was delighted to meet with the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), as part of a delegation from the APPG on Birth Trauma. In this meeting, the APPG and RCM discussed the 12 recommendations from last year's Birth Trauma Inquiry, how NHS Trusts are beginning to implement these, and how future progress can be made.
After the meeting, Ms Clarke said: 'Thank you to the Royal College of Midwives for inviting me to meet with them and other organisations at the Union Street Women's Health Hub to share my personal story of birth trauma and talk about lessons from the Birth Trauma Inquiry, plus ways to improve maternity care in hospitals across the UK.'
